Evaluation and tests for integrated composites

What are integrated composites?

Composite materials are created by integrating two or more different materials to provide more effective functions while supplementing each other’s properties mutually.

Main areas for tests and services

The institute acquired a certificate (ARP-ID: 299011) for an external independent test institute that is related to the evaluation of composite materials from France’s Airbus, which is a first in Korea.
With this technological capability, the institute carries out the analysis of materials and additives of various integrated composites, mainly carbon fiber-reinforced composites, glass fiber-reinforced composites, and aramid fiber-reinforced composites. It also carries out the analysis related to Poisson’s ratio, TTS (Time Temperature Superposition) as well as thermal analysis (DMA, TMA, TGA, DSC VICAT and MI).
It also carries out tests regarding modulus, compression, tension, shear, and bending strength by using monoaxis or multiaxis contact-type extensometers (digital), together with the service of identifying the causes of problems.
